The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME), CUI Wah Campus students participated in the Fly Your Own Plane (FYOP) contest at the TAAKRA 2024 event organized by the University of Central Punjab from February 28 to March 3, 2024. 40 teams from across the country participated in this national competition including four teams of CUI. Team Ascenders of DME students secured 1st position in this competition consisting of the following three students:
- Usama Javed Janjua
- Muhammad Wasay Khalid
- Muhammad Ahmad
The other teams of CUI Wah namely Arrowheads, Raven, and Aviatar Ayslum also performed well in the event and demonstrated remarkable skills and innovation throughout the competition. The design and flight of their aircraft showcased a profound understanding of aerodynamics. The teams from CUI Wah Campus successfully completed all assigned tasks, receiving acclaim from both judges and the audience. All the teams were supervised by Dr. Shoaib Naseem, Assistant Professor of DME.
The Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., and Head of DME congratulated the teams and appreciated their efforts.
